Richard Siegel Memorial Lecture

Richard Siegel at ChaiVillageLA Seder

Richard Siegel relished the opportunity to learn something new or important, especially when in the company of friends. To commemorate Richard and his love of learning, ChaiVillageLA is proud to introduce the first Richard Siegel Memorial Lecture.

The afternoon will feature Richard's friend and colleague, Marc Freedman. Marc will speak about the findings in his new book, How to Live Forever, and why he believes strongly that  adults 50+  have much to contribute to society.

Marc is the founder and CEO of Encore.org,  an organization that implements new ideas and models that leverage the skills and talents of experienced adults to improve communities and the world. One of Encore.org's major initiatives is "Generation to Generation," a five-year campaign to mobilize millions of adults 50+ to improve the future of children and teens.

In addition to How to Live Forever, Marc is the author of four other books including the groundbreaking The Big Shift. Marc was actually one of the catalysts for ChaiVillageLA. He and Richard met when he keynoted Temple Emanuel's conference, "The Next Stage: Looking Forward and Giving Back," which planted one of the early seeds for the Village.
