The Wisdom Circle is a monthly intellectual and social get-together for mature adults that originated at Temple Emanuel and is now run by ChaiVillageLA. It is open to members of Temple Emanuel and Temple Isaiah, and non-congregants as well. The Wisdom Circle on Wednesday, January 9th, will feature the Stop Senior Scams Acting Program, a peer-to-peer education program that uses theater to educate older adults and the community about scams and prevention. Members of the troupe ages 65-100 write the skits based on real life experiences. The Stop Senior Scams Acting Program was recently recognized by the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging for their peer-to-peer education program.
The Wisdom Circle usually begins with a special speaker, followed by an informal lunch, and then an interesting text-based discussion with a clergy member. There is a modest cost for lunch: $5.00 for members and $7.00 for non-members--please pay at the event. The Wisdom Circle meets from October through June, on the second Wednesday of the month.
