USA and China: Partners, Rivals or Adversaries?
About this event
Village member and East Asia expert Jonathan Pollack will try to resolve the question of whether the United States and China are on a collision course by examining the key historical forces that shaped US-China Relations over the past century. These include the misperceptions and miscalculations that have characterized the relationship, as well as the risks and uncertainties involved in the interactions between the two countries.
This first talk will focus on what has gone wrong in the relationship between the two countries, including some unfortunate missteps by the United States.
The talk will commence at 7:00 pm in the Temple Isaiah Sanctuary and will be followed by a question and answer session. Coffee and dessert will be served after the event.
******************************
Additional lectures will take place at Temple Isaiah on Thursday, January 24 (7:00 PM) and Friday, February 24 (8:00 PM).
