Creating Connections by Bridging Generations

Join us as we begin developing ChaiVillageLA’s new intergenerational programs.

During the time of extreme isolation, it is even more important to reach across to bridge the generation gap.  ChaiVillageLA was awarded a grant from The Natan Fund to develop programs that extend across the age divide. 

Rabbi Laura Geller will host this special event that will introduce Village members to this exciting, transformative project. 

As Marc Freedman elegantly states in his book, How to Live Forever: The Enduring Power of Connecting the Generations: “When younger and older connect, the intergenerational relationships built are a route to success in early life and a key to happiness and well-being in our later years.”

ChaiVillageLA members, Suzanne Solig and Jan Lipschutz, will share their story behind their award-winning intergenerational mentorship program “Roots and Wings”.  Talia Karu, our Program and Administrative Coordinator, will share her insights working with the Village community and her relationship with her grandparents.  We will also watch the TEDx Talk "Intergenerational Friendships: The Key to Happiness at any Age" by Anjali Bindra Patel who is a Faculty Member at WELCOA Wellness Council of America.

On Sept 1 join us as we begin on our journey that will expand ChaiVillageLA’s Neshama and invigorate each of our lives.
