Celebrating Jewish Life: The Art of Karen Koblitz
About this event
Karen Koblitz is a Los Angeles based artist and Associate Professor Emerita from University of Southern California’s Roski School of Art & Design.
She will present a visual journey of her artwork in public art projects, as well as private Judaic commissions that include Temple Isaiah’s Hava Nashira mural (above) and a permanent work installed on Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s Irmas Campus. She will speak about a new series that explores her Czech family roots, including memories of family members lost in the Holocaust. She will also describe her involvement in the restoration of a Czech Synagogue in the Southern Bohemian town of Pacov, where her great-great grandparents were married in 1860.
