About this event

Mark Greenberg

Rabbi Suzanne Singer
Join us for an important and compassionate discussion of End of Life issues.
In this important session, Mark Greenberg, Executive Director of End of Life Choices/California, will talk about ways to navigate the complexities of end-of-life planning and decision-making. Rabbi Suzanne Singer, who works with End of Life Choices, will provide the very important Jewish perspective.
As Rabbi Singer explains, "The goal of good end-of-life care is to prevent as much physical and emotional suffering as possible. Not aimed at curing illness, the focus is on comfort, dignity and quality of life. For many, it is reassuring just to know that options exist. There is no one right answer or choice; preferences vary from person to person. Candid conversation is crucial to ensuring we get the care we want at the end of life, so it’s important to discuss priorities with loved ones, healthcare providers and others close to us.”
The discussion will include Hospice as well the California law that permits terminally ill adult patients to make medical decisions. There will be plenty of time for questions. This will be a very informative and important session.
A light lunch in the social hall will follow the discussion.
