In past generations, people often lived in villages or close-knit neighborhoods--communities where people, young and old, knew each other's names, spent time together and kept an eye out for one another. This is the inspiration for ChaiVillageLA.

As we grow older, many of us want to stay in our own homes and neighborhoods, but sometimes this can take a village. ChaiVillageLA is a multi-generational, multi-synagogue village supported by Jewish values.

Congregants of Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills and Temple Isaiah have come together to form a special village, providing assistance to one another while enriching each other's lives.

Whether you are looking for a ride to the doctor, help with a computer, or a chance to join a book club, walking group or museum group, ChaiVillageLA will be there for you.

VILLAGE NEWS:

ChaiVillageLA members Rabbi Laura Geller, Barbara Meltzer and Janet Noah attended the recent Generation to Generation
Conference entitled "Bridging Generations to Improve Lives."  Gen2Gen has launched a campaign with the goal of getting one million adult volunteers age 50+ into the lives of young people who need champions.  "The value provided to both generations has been proven," said Janet Noah,  "I have seen the joy that occurs during the ChaiVillageLA-Play Works sessions and welcome more village members to join us."
