Discussion Without Dessert - Jerusalem, Gaza, and Lod. What’s Happening? 

 Historically, religion has not been presented as a driving factor in the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Come and hear about the current rise in violence between Israel and Gaza, and the growing role of religion in the conflict and the implications of this.
 
Our May "Discussion Without Dessert" speaker is Dov Waxman, B.A. M.A. Ph.D, Professor of Political Science, International Affairs and Israel Studies at UCLA.

Professor Waxman is an authority on the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Religion is having an increasing impact on the conflict today. What are the implications of this? Are two separate states the solution? Are there other alternatives? How do American Jews feel about all of this?

He received his B.A. from Oxford University and his MA and PhD from Johns Hopkins University.
Come and hear about the challenges and issues of a two state Solution, the pursuit of peace, defending the nation, the crisis of Israel identity and more.  Professor Waxman is a frequent commentator in print, on radio and on television and he has lectured widely in the United States and abroad. He is a prolific writer in many publications and an author of many books. His book "The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict:What Everyone Needs to Know" was published in 2019.

You will want to hear the latest news from this renowned scholar and have the opportunity to ask him questions. Register now for your place at what promised to be a memorable Village event.
