Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the Superior Court But Were Afraid to Ask

The third speaker of "Discussion Without Dessert" will be The Honorable Anthony J. Mohr, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge.  This evening will provide interesting information up close and personal about the Court System from a very experienced jurist. Judge Mohr will speak about many aspects of the Court including how Judges are elected or appointed, selection of jurors, role of the court reporter and court clerk, how cases are assigned to judges, how judges may be removed from office, how judicial assignments are made to courthouses throughout LA County and much more.

Judge Mohr graduated from Wesleyan University and received his JD from Columbia Law School. Governor Pete Wilson appointed him to the Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1994 and in 1997 elevated him to the Superior Court.  He is the past chair of the Committee on Judicial Ethics of the California Judges Association, is a faculty member for the Center of Judicial Education, and has authored law review articles which have appeared in Law Reviews for several Universities. He has taught New Judge Orientation at the Judicial College and the Civil Law Institute. He also serves on the Los Angeles Superior Court's Judicial Education Committee. Judge Mohr is an adjunct professor of Law at Southwestern Law School. He has authored and published essays and short stories in various anthologies and literary journals.

This is an opportunity to listen, learn, and ask questions of a highly respected, knowledgeable
jurist.
