Village member Audrey Stein, "The Passionate Traveler," will share  photography and stories from her travels in Iran from October 13 - November 1, 2008. 

"There was some anxiety connected to my preparations for this trip. I was not afraid to go to Iran, but wanted to be certain that my clothing was socially appropriate. I went to an Islamic shop in Anaheim to buy a proper head covering (that I never wore), to an LA thrift shop where I found two oversized, shapeless coats and also bought knee-length black socks. 

But the most unexpected and delightful surprise of this adventure was the way I was able to relate to people (both men and women). They were amongst the warmest and most frequent connections I'd ever had while traveling -- and I've traveled a great deal. People were thrilled to meet an American -- many had relatives living in the U.S. and many others wished they could live there." - Audrey Stein
