Fay Lentin, ChaiVillageLA member, would like to share her grandpa's story of emigrating from Lithuania and found himself in Ireland. Fay's brother, acclaimed filmmaker Louis Lentin, created the documentary, Grandpa.... Speak to me in Russian
, about his grandfather Kalman, exploring the relationship between Kalman's migratory path and Louis' feelings as a hyphenated Irish-Jew.
Come join us for an intimate showing of the documentary, followed by an opportunity for you to share your cherished memories and stories from your grandparents. You are welcome to bring photographs or stories to share with the group. We will also be discussing our own hyphenated identities and what it means to belong.
