Planning Ahead for Grandchildren with Special Needs

Planning Ahead for Grandchildren with Disabilities and Special Needs:
Leaving a Legacy and Not a Headache

Sponsored by Sages of All Ages

Join us at our monthly (virtual) Sages of All Ages program, as we welcome Michelle Wolf, an advocate for families with disabilities and a nonprofit social services innovator.

Michelle Wolf will speak to us about ways to plan ahead for grandchildren and other young family members with special needs and/or disabilities. She'll cover topics such as what is a pooled special needs trust? Are they affordable?  How can such a trust help?

This event is brought to you by ChaiVillageLA's Sages of All Ages who welcome all Village members as well as members of Temple Isaiah and Temple Emanuel.

About the Presenter:

Michelle K. Wolf is a parent disability advocate, and non-profit social services innovator. She is the Founding Executive Director of the Jewish Los Angeles Special Needs Trust, known as JLA Trust, the first pooled nonprofit trust based in LA County for persons with a range of disabilities. Pooled trusts are an affordable and easy way for people with disabilities to have professional trustee services to legally supplement their government benefits.

As a parent of an adult son with cerebral palsy, she writes on topics related to Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and she is also a member of the Self-Determination Advisory Committee for the Lanterman Regional Center.

She is a graduate of the double master’s program in Jewish Communal Service (Hebrew Union College) and Public Administration (USC) and has an honorary doctorate degree from Hebrew Union College-Los Angeles for her lifetime of work helping vulnerable populations.
